Default Firestone coil to air conversion

I installed Firestone coil air bags on my 2010 trx qc last fall, they worked great, with my atv in the back I eliminated all rear sag with about 20psi in the bags. Went to check the air pressure yesterday as they recommend you always have around 5 psi in them. It was about 2 weeks since I last checked them, there was 0 pressure in them, went to put air in and heard air escaping from under the truck, crawled under and discovered both bags totally trashed, the bottom of both bags had worn out. Not sure why this happened maybe our good Canadian winter, lots of snow and -30 temps???? Went on Firestone website and see they have a new system for the coil rear suspension, it's called "Rear coil to air Conversion system", looks interesting but isn't cheap $1600.00. Was wondering if anyone has tried this new system or heard any reviews yet?

I'd take them back for replacement! Toooooo new to self destruct.

Then, I'd take a serious look at why they failed, and rectify that before reinstallation.

I noticed that "Rear Coil to Air Conversion system" from Firestone about a month ago. I have no experience with it, but IMHO, if I was to have Firestone air bags that turned out to be poor quality, I would go for Air Lift 1000 air bags before I forked out the cash for this thing.

I wouldn't pay any more than probably about $400 for that air spring conversion system. You could have your air bags pop and then pay to replace them 16 times for the price of that system (and that's not even considering the air bag warranty).

Can the ride be that much better, really?

Sorry, I don't mean to hijack this thread (I already have Air Lift bags anyway), but does anyone know what the difference is between these two? I mean, other than the price? Thanks.

I will be contacting Firestone about these bags, hopefully they stand behind their product. I had ride rites on a chevy for 4 years and they never failed. Regarding the price I agree, way to high, and I can buy 16 coil bags for the price of their new system, and I will not be replacing until spring if I go back with their product.

In my correspondence with Firestone over the failure issue I had with the coil-rites; they advised that they are coming out with a product called "work-rite" air bags that are better than the coil-rites.

They claimed that they would send me a set under warranty but I haven't received it yet.

Do you mind telling me who and where you contacted, looks like the only place is in the US and I am in Canada.

My correspondence from Firestone was through the vendor suspensionconnection dot com. Firestone never responded directly to me. The vendor comped me with a set of Airlift 1000's and copied me with Firestone's excuses and promises.
