Default 430N RHB Sirius traffic link

So I purchased a 2011 ram 1500 with the MYGIG RHB 430N radio. I was told by the dealer that the truck did have the sirius traffic link and that it would be activated by me. I tried to call sirius and they could not get it to work. I asked the dealer to figure it out and they gave me this answer. The vehicle is not equiped with this option. My question is this. The dealer and brochure both stated that I should have this option. Now I am being told that it is not on my truck! I am not too happy about it and want dodge/my dealer to make it right! If the brochure has a feature listed, should they stand by it? Is this a form of false advertising? Not sure. Anybody have any experence with this? Thanks!~

I would imagine this is a case of your dealer saying you have something to net a deal with you when you actually don't. They are so nice about that and it's common for them to do it on things like the radio features and gearing ratios. Go look at any truck on the lot and see what the gearing is on it and then ask a dealer if that gearing has or is another option other than what you know it to be. They'll say yes every damn time.

As for your issue with the hardware, I do not have the system and I don't have ample experience operating it either. Someone else will have to chime in on that bit.

They can't activate it because you don't have sirius traffic available where you live, Rockford, Il right?

PS - You're not missing anything; by the time it tells you there is a traffic problem, you're already sat through the traffic problem. It's still way too slow to actually do any good.

the 430N is supposed to get an update soon, I was told by Sirius the traffic link will be available then, but Dodge will not pay for it like the radio service. Its possible the Sirius contact doesn't really know, but there is supposed to be an update coming soon for the 430 regardless.
