Has anyone had their heated rear view mirrors crack? Before I bought my ram I had a 2010 rental and while I had it in the cold climate (-20c) the passenger side mirror broke, the mirror glass separated from the refective backing. making it look like a big dark glob was behind the glass.
Now on my 2010 I had the mirrors defrosting and one cracked the glass while I was sitting there. Just wondering if this has happend to anyone else??

 

Yup, just noticed the other day my passenger side mirror was cracked!

 

Mine are good. Although I rarely use the heat. But it does get cold!

 

Our company purchased a 2010 Dodge Ram and within 2 weeks the heated side view mirror cracked. The dealership could find no external damage from a stone or tampering but GM Canada, who by the way never came to look at it, said there was no evidence that the mirror was faulty so would not cover the replacement.

 

Mine did not crack but the drivers side mirror and module had to be replaced, they were defective.

 

it kinda sucks, im sure these mirrors are not cheap.. next time i'm at the dealer i'll see what mr.warranty says.

 

My passenger side mirror cracked after the first really cold day. I have not tried the warranty route yet - but it doesn't sound good.

 

Had the heater element fail on my 09, dealer replaced complete unit. On my previous Dodge had the side mirror crack, dealer replaced it as it was still under warranty.
