Key Fob
My wife lost both key fobs and I had a locksmith come out and it cost me $400 for two fobs with the keys cut for the door and tailgate. He also made 3 keys for her bed cover. Dealer wanted $200 a fob and I would have had to pay for a tow. There is no way on gods green earth you can program a fob yourself. The locksmith had $40,000 in computers hooked up to the truck in order to erase and program 3 new keys. 2 fobs and 1 bladed key with a transmitter built in like the ST trucks have. He said every key had a $50 program fee that he had to pay to the company that provides him with the new codes for the key. I gave the locksmith my VIN# over the phone and when he pulled up he already had the key cut to open the door, that was a freaky site.
If you don't have remote start you're better off getting it. The dealer charged me around $275 to get it installed and it comes with 2 fobs. Plus they reprogrammed my original 2. So you may be better off getting the remote start instead of buying new fobs.
This - is the best deal, get the quote to install, and then dicker from there. They don't have to know that you already have remote.
