Default 55w hids. do they melt our housings? + tint ?

whats up guys? new to the site and read threw a bunch of pages before i asked a question and got bitched at because its been asked a million times haha. but didnt see what i was looking for. i just got my black 2011 quad cab sport a couple weeks ago and love it

so on to the question. with the quad headlights, would 55 watt HIDs melt the housings? (headlight or fog lights) or should i just stick to 35w? (id do 6k 35s, or 8k 55s)

and im getting it tinted this weekend. what % do you like on yours? front and back. or just match the fronts to the back, put a brow and call it a day? what % is on the backs already?

Fogs I'd definitely stick to 35w. For the main headlights, I'm not sure. I have duals and am wondering the same thing. Since you have quads you may want to stick to 35w's...

Wouldn't worry about the lens melting. Would worry about glare. With a PNP HID kit the 35 watt is plenty of light. Still have glare but not as bad. Our reflectors are not made for HIDs in the 1st place. 55's will overpower them. If you want/need more light, then go projectors. Its the right thing to do.
and way cool!
