Couple Questions
The first question I have for you guys is do any of you know why my a/c automatically turns on when I remotely start my truck even if I have the temperature gauge on OFF?
Second question I have is in regards to my stereo system. Is there anyway I can put the Ipod in Random mode permanenetly or do I have to select the "Random Track" mode everytime I restart the truck?

Most vehicles try to get to around 75 degrees regardless of the outside temperature or AC settings. The thought process is that if it is fall or spring and you shut your truck off on a 80 degree day with the AC on and you wake up to a 40 degree morning, you probably want the car to have switched from cooling to heating. The point of remote start is to get the vehicles interior to an equitable level, not to warm the engine, as a modern engine is generally ready to go in under a minute in even the worst conditions.
No clue about your second question.

you can try turning the climate control option off in the EVIC if you don't want the A/C starting with the truck. the '09s have the option to disable the climate control but it does not work on anyone's that i know of. maybe they do on the '11s.
on the ipod, you may try updating your software http://mofv.com/mygig/ or another ipod. some ipods work better than others.

I don't believe I do. I know it has the digital setting and the dual climate control feature; their is also an option on the manual **** that says "auto" but I don't think there is a climate control system in the truck that monitors the temperature of the vehicle?
Yes there is. If you put it on auto the truck will heat or cool to that temperature. The fact that it automatically changes to heat or cool depending on current interior shows that it is indeed monitoring the temperature in the cab. As I previously stated the general rule of thumb is to try and get the cab to 75 (at least it was on my GM), and to do it as fast as possible. This means that your HVAC will be blasting when you get in. If you do not like it the option is not to use remote start, as this is the only purpose of a remote start.

I don't use remote start this time of year, seems easier to use the automatic windows when I am getting ready just to let some air in, and not idle any gas away. So it is not scorching hot when I get in.
