Brand new HEMI tick??
I went to the dealer to test drive a few 2011 QC HEMI Sport trucks today and when the sales rep started the one I ended up wanting it was ticking like crazy. The truck only had 50 miles on it. It lasted for about 3 minutes and eventually went away. Fortunately I have yet to experience the HEMI tick on my 2005, but should I stay away from this truck? I know it comes with a pretty decent warranty but the others we started did not sound anything like this one. I have read a lot of posts about the HEMI tick on this site, but it seems strange for a new truck to have this immediately.
We did not reach an agreement on the price, but if they call me back I am not sure if I want it anymore. I was able to talk them down about $8,000 from the MSRP including incentives, I just wanted them to go a little lower to compensate for my trade in loss.

ALL engine's will 'tick' when the engine hasn't been started for a month or more. The oil has all pooled into the oil pan, so until the oil eventually makes its way through the engine, it'll make more noise than usual.
In all honesty, I'd prefer it did that, this way you know the car hasn't been driven before you got to it.

welcome to the hemi tick. my 2010 ram 2500 does it, sounds like its not properly tuned.
i had a crate motor in my old muscle car, it got a tick and required a valve adjustment. but for what ever reason the hemi's do it
