Default Trouble selling 2010 ram ?

Hey guys, i have had my truck on autotrader since march 1st and have got no bites on my truck. A reg cab hemi slt 2wd with 20s. My last 2 ford 150s i sold within 2 weeks. Im hoping Dodges resale isnt this bad for everyone. Anyways, the kelley blue book on the truck is $ 21,175. Im going to go by carmax and see what they offer me. Has anyone had any luck from carmax ? Im wondering if they will be close to kelley ?

Resale on the 4th gen dodges looks good.... Resale on a 4th gen ram with your options....not so much. I'm not in the market nor would i even pay 20,000 for a reg cab 2wd

Regular cab pickup is probabally the worst configuration to try to sell.

Jeez, sorry dude,
i have to agree with the rest of the guys here, because they can get you into a brand new 2011 for just about the same money.
New vehicle incentives, and lower intrest rates for brand new trucks is why you have no bites.
Plus think about this too, trucks aren`t sellin good right now....GAS PRICES & UNEMPLOYMENT, nobodys buyin.

I wish you all the best my good friend, trade it in and take the loss, or keep driving it...!

I think some of the recent incentives on new purchases might be hurting the resale value of late models. A dealer by my house in Maryland is advertising $10,000 off MSRP for RAMs. I noticed that is much cheaper than their late model used vehicles...Almost tempting enough to trade mine in....

I would also venture a guess, that the economy was better, when you were selling your previous trucks - more buyers were available. Now, buyers of everything are hesitant...... especially when they can get into a new one for very little difference.

I got high bluebook on my 2010 RC about 6 weeks ago when I traded up for my CC sport. You may want to stick with NADA as a price guide. That is what most banks use when determining what they will loan on a used vehicle.

FWIW, there is a beautiful RC chevy with rims, lowered and all the bells and whistles that I've been driving by every day for a month. They are asking 19,8oo....and it just sits there. Recently I sold my motorcycle and took a 1k loss off of KBB/NADA. If you want to part ways with it, you are gonna have to compete with the new 2012 Express's that are starting to show up on the lots, lower intrest rates, and marketing that Dodge has nailed at the moment. Bottom line....adjust your price, trade it in, or just keep it. If you can advertise it for cheap or nothing...you may be able to wait out a buyer. Either way, good luck with the sale.

On Gearz right now they are having a show about the 2011 1500 Express - $21K after incentives even before negotiating.

No way you're going to sell a used one for anywhere near that now - unless you find a really uninformed buyer.

And as for these guys who say they are getting high bluebook on trade in - get real, the dealer is just adjusting what they would have given you off on the new truck otherwise.

Out of curiosity, what did you pay for the truck new? Shouldn't have cost more than 25K

Ya I just saw that....too bad it's a one wheel peel truck, the could have at least put a posi on it to make it really leave some rubber.
I was at the dealership and they were selling a single cab or should say sold it for less than they paid for it because it has been on the lot since Oct of 2010 so the 12's coming in a few months good luck.
