Question 4x4 gear advice

Hello all,

I have a 09 QC Hemi SLT 4x4, I'm putting on a 6" pro comp lift with 37x12.50r20 M/Ts with aftermarket wheels due to stock wheels with improper bs. What gear ratio should I go with? Is 4.56 over kill or proper for this setup? I'm also putting in a Detroit tru trac locker in the rear. I don't care about the mpg, but would like to hear thoughts on what I would get. I mainly want usability on road as well as off road, I know it's a fine line when going this big...

Thanks for input and advice.
Jason.

4.56 gears will give you the same mechanical advantage as 3.92 with 32 inch tire... or close to the same acceleration as a stock truck with 20s with slightly smaller than stock tires.

6" pro comp and 35" tires here and had 3,55 with that setup for a year. I just put in 4.56 and best thing I've done. At 60 mph I hit about 1900 rpms which is perfect for towing. But with 37 inch tires its perfect. My mpg are about 13 for a combination of hwy and city. Power diff is awsome, more off the line power.

it seems like our trucks are somewhat similar. I have 3:55's also and am looking to swap to 4:56's. What all did you get to go with the gears? (true trac, etc)..... How much did everything end up running you?

I'm trying to talk 4wheelparts down, but for the 4.56 front and rear/detroit tru trac locker in the rear/labor $2,400. They want an additional 300 for warr.

price includes gear oil, master rebuild kit, etc..
