We don't have gallons. We have liters. But on my truck I have the option to switch it from Liters to Gallons.

Well, we do have gallons. It is just around 4.5L not 3.8L.

We rate our mileage in L/100kms. But on window stickers, it will use miles to a 4.5L gallon for better advertising. As my CC with 3.92 gears was advertised at 26mpg (good luck!).

However, if I switch my EVIC to show MPG, it uses a 3.8L gallon. I have done the math to confirm it.

EVIC uses US gallons.
Our local dealer is advertising 28mpg with the hemi.
I don't think there is a long enough (down)hill anywhere in north america to get that kind of mileage!

Ha! Had my truck for over 2 years and didn't know it could show mpg. Thought it only had L per 100KM.

I'm the same way... I don't know how much a gallon is, or how far a mile is, but MPG is easy to understand. I know how much a liter is, and how far a kilometer is, but L/100KM doesn't make any sense to me.

Basically it is just stating how many litres of gas you use for every 100kms you drive.

But yes, MPG is one thing we should have kept, hell even keep the gauges in miles I don't care. LOL

Lol, I 'understand' it from a analytical point of view, but I have a hard time equating what that means as far as comparison...

For example, I know 20mpg is good in a large vehicle, like our trucks.. for cars, 40mpg is on the horizon for a lot of them
I have no idea if 9L/100km is good, or not... I realize that going 400km, will take 36L, which makes the math easy for figuring out costs, etc... but comparison, it's not as visual... It also works against everything we were taught in school. The higher score wins, in almost every game except the really strange ones. L/100KM is a strange game.
