Default RAM 2500 Flip out tow mirrors on my 1500...

So I snagged a deal on some NICE tow mirrors that came off of a 2009 RAM 2500. They are powered and heated. I will not use the power or heat feature as the wiring isn't there. And I'm fine with that, because once I set em, I forget em!

I'm trying to put them on my 1500 and the bolt pattern doesn't line up.

I fixed it by reaming one of the holes bigger and by drilling another hole where the 3rd one needs to be.

The problem I'm having is that the metal mount that is on the mirror sticks out to far, so while I can get all 3 of the bolts in and get the mirror snugged down and it's solid as a rock, there is about a 1/2" gap where water will, no doubt get in and probably ruin my speaker and god only knows what else.

Any ideas if there is a bracket that's available that may make these mirrors work correctly? Or is having these flip out tow mirrors on a "baby" 1500 not gonna happen?

Thanks

The 2009 2500 is not the same body style at the 2009 1500. They HD trucks didn't get the updated platform until 2010. Those mirrors aren't made for your truck.

Yup. If you want to use 2500/3500 mirrors then you need 2010 and up

So needless to say: I don't give up quite as easily... I got em both mounted with all three bolts and it's solid as a rock!

I will be sure to keep an eye on the water situation, but I've already devised a plan for sealing it up if the oem foam, water sealant pads that came with these things aren't enough. Here are some pics too!

Those don't look like they fit at all. Might want to run it through a high pressure car wash and see how much water you get inside your doors

Only time will tell oldjeep. I have the old ones and it only takes a second to put them back on.

I'll do that if need be.

Thanks
