Default What to pay if I were looking for a new truck again...

I am possibly looking to get another 4th Gen. I was looking to get a used 3rd Gen, but they are 14-18K$ used with 50-100K miles. I was browsing the new 2011s that are left over and see one, crew cab Hemi 2wd, with a sticker of 38,235$ with an internet sales price of 28,965$. This dealer has 20 or so 2011s left and I know they are trying to get rid of them since the 13's will be here soon. They have a metric *** ton of 2012s too.

I am thinking they are going to come down from that price if the initial internet price is 28,965$. The question is, how far can I get them to come down?

Yes, I traded my 2009 and hate my life...I had to say it before any of the original 4th gen people beat me to it....

I have a 09 Ram 1500 Sport Reg Cab. I paid $17,500 used 1 owner from a dealer with after market rims, mopar decal and mopar step rails. I got a hell of a deal even though it doesn't have power anything because it was a repo. But 29k from what i have seen is not bad as long ad it is bigger than a reg cab and got power locks and windows. Hell i would say its a good deal if it has the Hemi. I would try to go a couple grand lower and see what happens.

I'm guessing that the 28,965 will be pretty close to their bottom dollar - assuming it is an SLT and not an ST. Most of the time the dealers internet price is a take it or leave it deal. FWIW - That is almost exactly what I paid for my 09 SLT crewcab Hemi 2wd.

28,5 seems pretty fair. right now they are offering 0% for 72 months which is a big incentive

After some emailing, the sales manager said the internet price was "absolutely negotiable".

I am still looking at used 3rd gens, mainly because they are cheaper... I found a 2006 Night Runner quad cab, which I am in love with, for 16,900$.

The biggest hurdle is getting another vehicle and staying married....

Dealers out in oklahoma city area are advertising $15k off msrp, right now. Steve white motors is in hickory, NC. He usually has some very good prices. I think I found some of his trucks listed on autotrader.com

Jeff.

Been lurking here...Just pulled the trigger on a 2011 Big Horn, Loaded MSRP of a bit over $40K, my price before tax, $30,200.

Be aware of the "internet' pricing...when i sat down, that "price" included every incentive under the sun...many for which some would not qualify for... Interesting that the 0% was not available with the "internet" price, because some incentives are in lieu of the "0%"

While i am all for internet shopping. it is best to really get there to see what they will really do. Best of luck

In Canada my 09 Sport is holding its value fairly well, in March it will be 3 years I have had it and it still is showing a Blue Book Value over 24G . Not like the previous cars etc. I have owned.
