LED cab lights cut off/flicker when headlights are on?
I thought I just had a problem with my LEDs because 2 of them will flicker/cut out when I have them on- However, I discovered that if I turn the truck WITHOUT headlights (aka remote start), they work fine... it isnt until I turn the lights on (even if I just "unlock the doors" after remote start) they start flickering on me).
They are 10 LEDs each (so 50 total). I guess this could be noise or a voltage issue. Do these alternators output higher voltages than most cars? (or lower?) or is it likely a noise issue?
How should I look into remedying it, putting in a relay direct to battery? I figured since they were LEDs (and regular bulbs don't need a relay) that a relay would be overkill?

Are they factory installed cab lights...??? Dosent sound like to me that they are.
Sounds like a resistor issue. Unless ther is a resistor built into the LED`s, they`re gonna flicker due to the TIPM thinking that the factory stock incandesent bulb is blown. Put the stock OEM bulbs back in it and see if the problem goes away. If it does, the LED`s are the problem causing the issue. A relay isnt going to fix the problem, its a electrical load issue, thats what the resistor fix`s. LED`s dont have any great amount of load, the incandesent bulbs (and halogen`s) do create a bigger load on the circut. The TIPM has a certain amount of electrical load it works within, if it isnt in that specific current/load range, it trys to shut that circut down, and thats why you end up with flickering LED`s. As least thats what i find with running LED`s. Some LED`s have a built in resistor, some dont. You have to check the spec`s on them before you buy them. Dont buy them from ebay, most are junk and do not work correctly. Someone else may chime in and clear this up or correct me if i`m wrong about it.

Maybe I do need to just go with stock bulbs... I chose the LEDs because I thought then I'd never have to replace them, but they seem like more of a hassle than they are worth so far, so thats probably what I'll do, just replace 'em! Thanks!
