Default Headlights...

So I know there have been lots of threads on headlights, but I still could not find an exact answer. Instead of restarting a dated thread, I will just start my own!

So as some of you may know I did an HID installation DIY thread a while ago. This was just the conversion, tho. I want to upgrade to a set of projectors, just want some opinions is all.

Here in Alberta, there is no one that I can find that does a headlight retrofit. Which is something that I really would like to see done, just so that I can customize it to how I want it right! Unfortunately again no one does it around here. I have talked with companies in the US, some of them agree they can do it. However shipping is going to be KILLER to get that done. Not to mention I have to buy a new set of factory headlights to send down there, as I still need my current ones to drive

So I have been shopping around on different sites, mostly coming across recon and spyder. They seem to be the good ones anyways, Spec D sells too but I feel they are too simple if you know what I mean. I have also been looking on EBAY just to see. They have the exact headlights listed on there as I have seen on some companies sites. I know that EBAY is not the best place to buy that stuff, but for 100 bucks off, man if they are the EXACT same headlight its a steal! Not to mention they have headlight and LED taillight packages, which for another couple hundred bucks I would do!

The other issue I come across tho, especially on EBAY, is they specify for dual lamp units only. What on earth would be the difference? If there are two holes on each headlight (one projector one open) why does it matter? I have 35W HIDS already so I plan to put them in there. But they are all separately controlled anyways! If someone knows anything about that please fill me in haha. Also I have read up about HIDs in projectors, and most places I look at say that a 35W is alright. It won't burn much hotter then a regular halogen. I thought it was the other way around, but I could be wrong.

Any insite on this would be greatly appreciated! I seem to be doing more and driving in the dark, and now that winters here. Well, you can put it together! The fact that with this headlight the lowbeam moves with the high, making it seem just out of my reach to get the light I want! Without blinding people that is....

Thanks in advance!

Jj at retroshop.us is my answer as well. Don't get recon or anzo projectors because they are halogen projectors, you'll be disappointed on the output, how do I know? I had them before. I belive jj charges 200 for headlights so you can keep yours on till you get them. Just email him and he can send you a quote including shipping. You won't regret it, plus you can customize them the way you want.

Nate, if you wanna play, you gonna pay brother, nothins free. These guys are telling you that JJ is the man, i`ll tell you the same, you`ll be glad you spent the denairo`s.
JJ is one of the most nicest guys you`ll ever deal with, he will work it out with you to whatever you`re comfortable with, but yes, its gonna cost you something.
Once you have one of JJ`s pro-light jobs, you`ll be grinnin and the on-coming traffic will be dimmin.

Stay away from egay, those lights are junk...!

I have a 4 gen ram with the two bulb system for headlamps. when you converted to HID did u have to run the resistors or did u get the ballasts with the error code cancellor. Would just like to buy it right once. And spend the money on projector lenses from a good source, JJ's look awesome and hope they stay watertight unlike most of the the eDay crap out there

For my setup to get the lowbeam working I had to put my ballast as well as a warning canceller in line. As for highbeams I didn't even bother putting hid in those, if you get lights from jj the projectors are bixenon, there's a selenoid that flicks and makes them highbeam. I got the fogs retrofitted with the same projectors also, so my fogs can flicker to highbeam as well. As for the stock highbeam bulbs well they only serve as daytime driving lights now.

I belive jj also has hid kits and whatnot for sale, and he's a dodge man himself, he would know what setup would work for your truck.

Good luck

Actually the anzo projectors aren't bad. Better than stock but only marginally. Now mine are way better bc of the FX-R 3.0s in them.

Here's pics of my output
