Default Rear springs

Okay I've seen many talk about using air bags and Timbren or some other type of large bump-stop. Has anybody every install heavier coil springs. Tow a 5th wheel.

2012 Outdoorsman - quad cab

I'm thinking of using
http://www.sdtrucksprings.com/index....ducts_id=10187
http://www.generalspringkc.com/product_p/ttc-1210.htm

Do not want air bags, had them, Do Not want them. The Timbren system have heard if you have a light load and hit a bump, axle will come in contact kinda harsh, is what I was told.

cheers

1500 trucks are not built to tow 5th wheels and if you have to modify a coil spring truck, you have the wrong truck to use for 5th wheel applications, box length is critical when 5th wheel towing.

Suspensions on 1500 coil spring trucks were not designed or promoted by dodge for towing 5th wheels.

Outdoorsman Quad Cab has 3:92 axle -- E rated (10 ply rating) wranglers. truck is rated just over 10,000lbs.
Our 5th wheel weighs 5000 lbs. loaded with less than 600 lbs. on the hitch. Been towing 5th wheel trailers since 1990. Last (1998) Ram Quad Cab towed for 15 years. This Ram's box is 1 inch shorter. Crew cabs are not recommended but there are hitches for all crew cabs.

Ram's owners manual states:

Fifth-Wheel Hitch
The fifth-wheel hitch is a special high platform with a
coupling that mounts over the rear axle of the tow vehicle
in the truck bed. It connects a vehicle and fifth-wheel
trailer with a coupling king pin.

Gooseneck Hitch
The gooseneck hitch employs a pivoted coupling arm
which attaches to a ball mounted in the bed of a pickup
truck. The coupling arm connects to the hitch mounted
over the rear axle in the truck bed.

Trailer Hitch Classification
The following chart provides the industry standard for
the maximum trailer weight a given trailer hitch class can
tow and should be used to assist you in selecting the
correct trailer hitch for your intended towing condition.

Trailer Hitch Classification Definitions
Class Max. Trailer Hitch Industry
Standards
Class I - Light Duty 2,000 lbs (907 kg)
Class II - Medium
Duty

Class IV - Extra 10,000 lbs (4540 kg)
Trailer Hitch Classification Definitions
Class Max. Trailer Hitch Industry
Standards

Heavy Duty
Fifth Wheel/
Gooseneck
Greater than 10,000 lbs
(4540 kg)
Refer to the “Trailer Towing Weights (Maximum
Trailer Weight Ratings)” for the Maximum Gross

All trailer hitches should be professionally installed on
your vehicle

I guess I should have said when I posted this

The question was has anyone use the above springs for any reason ~~~~~~ other than towing then.

I have timbrens and have not had a problem with them contacting the axle when hitting a bump. When set up properly you should have at least a 1" space between the timbrens and the axle and notice no difference in your unloaded ride. They only contact your axle when your truck is loaded.

I think when a lot of people read the words 5th wheel, they think about huge 5th wheel trailers, truth is , 1/2 tons have been pulling lighter 5th wheels, for a while, as long as the weight is within there pulling capacity, there fine, my neighbor pulls with his 1/2 ton dodge ram 2009 since 2009,we go camping all the time with our families, never had a problem pulling or stopping, the trailer weighs the same as bumper pulls ,just pulls a little better since it is pulled over the axle.
another friend that goes with us has a (5th) wheel, and it doesnt weigh as much as my bumper pull and it pulls it with no problems.
