20" wheel covers
I was rather disappointed to learn my 20" chrome clad wheels were plastic. I know one day they will not look as good as they do now. Has anyone ever removed them and just put the wheel back on their truck? I was contemplating on trying it for fun once it gets warmer out. Or perhaps buying another set for summer depending on what replacements cost for all four corners. If anyone has any pics that would be terrific.
And when I say buy another set, I mean new plastic wheel covers. One for summer, one for winter. Not an entire wheel/tire combo. I wonder if its similar like a hubcap. Can the 20" wheel go back on without the wheel cover?
I believe they are glued on. And yes you could put them on with no covers....But I think the wheel would look ugly without them on.
Save your money and get a nice chrome set of wheels. Pickup some take offs for the winter like I did off of Craigs list.
Oh and read this....

Just had a flat fixed, and the guy broke the plastic cover on my rim. He is ordering an aftermarket cover for me from this place:

But i think I actually like the look of the aluminum rim underneeth, and will be pulling all of the rest of the covers off, and maybe put them back on when i sell it. The bare rim has a nice mettalic paint, and is NOT glued on. Only has clips holding it on.

That depends which wheels you have. Because on my 2010 Sport the plastic covers are indeed glued on which makes it more of a nuisance because you have to clean all the glue off of them.

It'd be great if you'd post a pic of it without the wheel cover. It warmed up yesterday and I detailed my ram inside and out. I found more cracks and discoloration in 2 out of 4 of the wheel covers. It doesn't make any sense how the cracks could've of happened. Living in Illinois and the use of salt answers the peeling. Anyway. Please post a pic or a link to a few pics. That'd be awesome.
