Default Parking brake adjustment

I had the brakes (4 wheel discs) on my 2009 Ram done (pads and rotors) about 3 weeks ago by a friend of my son. Brakes are great and saved me some money. I noticed though that initially the travel on the parking brake pedal was significantly greater after the brake job was done. Today, the parking brake pedal went right to the floor. The guy that did the brakes lives an hour away, and I thought if it's a relatively simple adjustment I would do it myself. Does anyone know the procedure to adjust them? Thanks in advance.

He likely backed off the e-brake shoes to get the old rotors off your truck and DIDNT re-adjust the e-brake shoes back up into the inside of the new rotors. Usually thats the only thing that causes a low e-brake pedal, unless, you have stretched cables, but THATS very doubtful as stretched cables are very rare. I would think all you need to do is, is adjust the e-brake shoes till they just start to rub the e-brake drum surface and you`ll be ok. And i hope he cleaned the new rotors really good with BRAKLEEN before installing them. The coating on new rotors can give you slippage if not cleaned real good before installing them.

Thanks LU229. I agree, it's unlikely it's cable stretch as the e-brake was fine prior to the brake job. Little awkward for me to adjust the e-brake shoes as I don't have a lift of jack stands. Just ramps that I use to do my oil changes. Appreciate the information.
