Default AMP Power steps

HI, thinking about these steps for my Ram, my question is has anyone ever lived/used these steps in a cold, snowy, icy and salty environment?

Thanks

No problems with them up here in Northern Idaho.

OH, forgot to mention that we love them. They tuck up tight and you can't even see them unless you bend down and look for them.

FYI I had them on my previous truck (F150 Platinum) and I hated them. They stuck out too far when open, didn't open fast enough, would hit me in the shin sometimes (hurt like hell). JMO just thought I would share it with you.

The steps on the F-150 (assuming they came with it stock) are a completely different setup altogether. The AMP steps hold up really well, especially when compared to the knockoff versions Bestop puts out.

The Amp step opens and closed way faster than the stock Ford and stock GM powered running boards.

I hope you really like them. Most all my friends loved the steps on my F150, I just never liked them (they came with the truck).

Thanks for the responses, I have never heard about the issue that they are not fast enough before. Other than the one comment about using these in snowy/icy conditions is there anyone else using these in those conditions. I'm a little concerned with it, if you look at their dealer network 90% of them are in good weather locations so that tells me they don't sell a lot of these in the conditions I'm in.

On my second Ram with them and would do it again. Also in an enviroment with a lot of salt and bad weather. I only can remember one time when they stuck up due to snow and ice and that is really a non issue as the motor turns off when a load is sensed. That is also how you clean them. Just open the door and place your foot on the step. Close the door and they stay deployed. They drop fast and do stick out further than a regular tube step which allows for much easier entry. If you want to see how fast they operate, there is a video on their website or Youtube. There is no way they are slow.

As mentioned above, if you buy them be sure to get the american made Amp brand. The Chinese knockoffs have a lot of motor issues. I don't care for the Amp LED lights though which come standard with the steps. They want you to drill some holes in the body lip to install. I personally did not see the need and left them off.
