Default Rear Differential Recall Done

I stopped by my local dealer today, recall parts are in, they did mine in about 10 minutes while i waited.

Contents in the "recall N08" parts box: 4 new u-joint flange bolts (w/blue treadlock already on the bolts, and the old bolts had blue locktight on them when they took them out), pinion nut retainer, 3/32nds hex bit/tool to secure the retainer to the inside of the pinion flange. It has large teeth on the outer side of it to bite into the pinion flange as you tighten the 2 set screws (the set screws wedge the retainer open), wrench flats on the inside of it slip over the pinion nut to keep the pinion nut from turning/loosening.

Only thing i would tell them to do is, mark the driveshaft and pinion flange so they put it back in the same way it came out.

Here is the part number that was on the recall box: 1-CBHKM342AA

Good to hear, hopefully they get it out to all dealers sooner than later!

Keep in mind folks, this recall will NOT fix a differential that is already failing.

Thanks Lu! I'll probably have to wait even longer now, since I just bought a '13 Sport. I did receive the initial notice and passed it along to the new owner.

DAMN Lu, that's one hell of a modified truck!

I bought a "Bright White" (color) Crew-Cab 4x4 Sport with the Laramie interior, fully loaded, first time ever with all the bells and whistles. I love it thus far, very comfortable, still getting used to the big NAV screen, lol. Vented seats are nice after a hot day at work. Nice having solid polished aluminum wheels instead of chrome clads, never liked clads on any of my vehicles.

Never owned anything that "white", but for some reason the new blacked out sport headlights, and that chally style looking hood was a head turner for me, lol! The 6 speed is actually quite an improvement with regards to mpg's. I'm averaging 2+ mpg's already, driving the routine, and haven't even broke into the 300 mile mark yet.
