Default 2013 ram hemi idle problems!!!

I just bought my ram 3 weeks ago and I currently have 700miles on it. The problem I have noticed it when I come to a complete stop and the idle settles down the truck begins to idle rough.....almost likes its missing. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm taking the truck back to the dealership on Monday. Any help would be great.

Performance1320,

I'm sorry to hear about your idle concerns, this is not something I have heard of on the 2013 Rams. Keep us posted on the information provided by your dealer and if you have any questions please feel free to PM me or you can contact the Customer Care Department at:

US: 1-800-992-1997

Congratulations on your new Ram and welcome to the Dodge Forum!

My 2012 idles rough and my dealer (as always) told me it was "normal" and some bull**** about "hot cams" and refused to do anything about it.

My 2009 has always had an odd idle, it will "roam" up and down in RPMS a little and yes sometimes it seems a rough idle. I have just gotten used to it. Glad its not just mine.

I'm beginning to think this is considered "normal conditions" with more then just the RAM. I noticed in the Regal Forums this seems to be an active topic as well, however I've never noticed it with our '11 GS Turbo.

Guess what? The GM dealership techs consider this normal operating conditions as well.

Likely a corn cob stuck in the injectors from all the ethanol we burn today...lol.
In all seriousness though, some of you may be buying sh!tty gas and this is likely the cultprit of your rough and/or unstable idle issues. I burn nothing but NON-ethanol gas now, my rough idle problems went away and have never returned. Might be a good idea to throw in a whole bottle of "Gumout - All in One" on your next fill up. I add a bottle with every oil change as well. My HEMI runs VERY smooth since getting away from the E10 garbage.

I had to stop using Valero gas because it made the truck idle like crap. Started using the grocery store gas station, and Sams club and smoother idle and no more cyl misfires. Why? No idea, but the dealer may have been right about my problem being poor gas.
