I'm sure it's an accessory/pulley/belt somewhere. You'll have to see where the noise is coming from...otherwise all anyone can do is make completely random suggestions. Too many possibilities for that method!

Sgonzalez1377,

As nolimits advised, there are too many variables involved to properly assess the vehicle through the forum. What's the mileage on the vehicle? Does it have any remaining warranty?

If you would like to review warranty information or have any inquiries getting the vehicle diagnosed by a Dodge dealer, please PM me and I'd be happy to help.

Most likely the whine will be your power steering pump, pulleys and belts tend to squeak or grind.

Since you are a 2012 you should still be under warranty. If so take it in and let Chrysler handle it.

All my whining noise comes from the back seat. Seems to go away when the kids aren't back there.

almost all the sound I have found was the idler pulley, not the tensioner pulley, this one sounds just like the P/S pump going out but if you turn the steering wheel the sound doesnt change, I have swapped out 8 of them on different friends trucks now, even my dads grand caravan 2010, has the exact same pulley ,and his did it, we swapped it out, and all is good, the dealer i went to changed out my P/S pump , and resorvoir, back in 2010 that didnt fix it so I started looking. the pulley is about $12.00 at Napa.

A trick I use to isolate noisy pulleys is to get a spray bottle with water and spray the pulley while running and making the noise. The water will make the noise go away temporarily.
