Default Door does not lock on first or 2nd try

I have keyless entry on my 2013 1500 Ram. When I press the lock button on the door handle it normally does not lock after the first try. I have to press it a 2nd or 3rd time for it to lock. It acts like I have to wait so many seconds before I can successfully lock it.

Any ideas? Is this another firmware update to fix?

i have/had the same problem. my dealer has a receiver that checks whether the fob works or not. both of the batteries in the fobs were not great so i replaced them. it is a lot better (still intermittant at times) but it works better if i hold the fob above the steel part of the door because the receiver for the truck is the win module which is the speedo/evic/tach.

Likely the door switches have contacts that need cleaning. And after cleaning "contact enhancer", from radio shack, will help keep switch contact clean.

Dealer would likely only be able to sell the whole set of switches for that door.

It is not the FOBs. It is the button on the handle I press to lock it.

Yes, but you need to have the fob in your pocket for the button to work - correct?

i have the same issue with the lock button on the drivers door of my 09 1500. its random, when i actually pay attention it usually seems to work, but when i am not i will become aware that a didnt hear the actuators. by the 3rd or 4th push it always seems to lock. i assumed some bad contacts or corrosion, but it seems like it would be more consistant or get worse if that was the case.

i keep forgetting to mention to dealer as most of the time i use the fob to lock.

NMRam,

Any updates for your concerns? Have you talked to a Dodge dealer or tried using your other FOB?

Please keep us posted and if you have any questions feel free to PM me.

I tried using the other FOB. No luck. I probably need to contact the Dodge dealer. I will probably wait until I need the first oil change and get two things done at once.
