Default Factory remote start problems

I have a 2011 Sport CC and lately the remote start is hit or miss. 2/3 of the time, it will start 1/3 of the time it won't, then it shows a "remote disabled, start to reset" message. The dealer has replaced the fobs and hood switch, reset the system but still no go, and no codes. I'm stumped. Any one have the same problem? And a fix?

I've seen it happen randomly. Sometimes it just refuses to start. Sometimes it starts and runs for 10 seconds and then stops and won't re-start. No idea what the issue is. But most of the time it works. I guess that's all we can expect...

If your low on fuel it will shut off in a few seconds.

If the remote buttons are pressed randomly, it also shuts down as my daughter likes to do this. It becomes disabled and displays the start to reset message.

Have you replaced the CR2032 battery in the key fob...?
Open it up, clean the battery contacts with a pencil eraser, install a new battery.
Also you may want to check the actual module connectors (under dash behind glovebox i believe ?)

Mike,

Has the dealer been able to duplicate this? Since the keys were replaced the problem continues to occur? Have you informed the dealer?

If you like additional assistance reviewing you concerns, please feel free to PM me your VIN# and the name of your servicing dealer.

The dealer has had the truck for three nights and it started every time untill I came to pick it up I'll clean up the contacts in the fobs. We are aware of the low gas/ 10 sec run and that you can only remote start 2 times before you need to cycle through the normal start up. They are now replacing the ECU. That will be in a week or two.

They say there is the hood switch, fob, ECU and antenna in the whole remote system. They are knocking them down one at a time.

If the runtime counter in the PCM is not resetting at KEY OFF, then yes the PCM could be the problem. If you're getting a DISABLED message, there is a likely an inhibit causing it. Intermittent stuff sucks.
