Default 2011 Ram 2500 gear change question

Hello All! Have question. I have a 2011 Ram 2500 4X4 with the 5.7L with 3.73 gears. I want to go to a 4.10 gear for towing.

So, can this be done? And where would be a good source to get replacement gears?

Could I add a limited slip while I am in process of changing these out?

I am thinking of having the dealer do the work or finding someone who specializes in this.

My towing capacity is only 8500lbs. So I see the 4.10 gear gets me to 11000.

Thanks in advance, and recommendations are welcomed..

I'm not a 2500, but do they use the 9.25 rear ends? If so, you should be able to easily go up to 4.10. Mopar makes a 4.10 factory set (used in Power Wagon, R/T, etc), but you can get them aftermarket pretty easy as well. The same for limited slips, they have factory and aftermarket.

As for the installer, I'd go with a specialist. The dealer can do it, but you'll pay through the nose for the service. I recently had a dealer quote me $5500 for a gear change. Uh hell no! And that was for my 4x2!

410 up grade is not going to give you a huge improvement in towing, how much do you want to tow?
True duals wake up a hemi, tuner ad well is more bang for the buck, power wagons run 456 gears better to go thier than a 410 if your paying for this, but if you have a 4x4, you have to have booth diffs with identical gearing..

373 tows fine in my 06 2500 hemi, 10,000 is abought high as I want to go...

Hemis dont get good mpg when towing regardless of the gearing, so be acurate with your expectations.
