Default New ram wrong size spare. Dealer ugg

I just purchased a leftover 2014 ram express. It was factory upgraded with the 20in over size wheels. The full size spare is the stock 17 in. Dealer is givin me a hard time about a free replacement. Going in with salesman tomorrow to see what they will,do.. Any recommended next steps if his don't work

Take it up the corporate chain. All you can do if dealer is no help.

You got "oversized" wheels, but not tires. The 17" and 20" tires are the same OD. So there is no need to change the spare to 20". A 17" spare is still considered "full sized".

If you go to the Ram website you will see that even when selecting 20" wheels, the spare remains 17". If you want a matching spare you will have to pay for it.

Yup - this. Not sure if they still do a 20" spare, but when they used to it was a crappy temp use only tire even though it was full sized. With the 17 you get a real tire that you can drive on as long as you need to.

As stated the spares are all the same no, no more factory full-size 20" wheel and tire. Actually I'm quite sure they have been using a space saver spare on all trucks for a few years now...

My 09 with 20's came with a junk 17" spare. It was basically the same diameter as the 20's .
When I had to buy new tires, bought a cheap 20" rim and 5 new 20's tires.

Had no problem with the 20 inch rim spare mounting under the truck.
