Default trans lines leaking - again

Anyone had issues with the trans lines going bad? Just had an oil change and they said that the trans lines have a minor leak. I had to get them replaced at around 90-100K miles? (I'll have to check my receipts) because they were rotting out - seems like at 112K it might be happening again.

No issues for mine. Yours is the only one I've heard of. The lines sit pretty high up to be damaged by any road debris. So they rotted out again?

Not sure yet. They said a minor leak and it was -4 this morning, so I haven't crawled under there yet.

brr, too cold for me - I'm a wimp. I'm guessing that since they found the leak from the bottom, it at the trans itself. Probably just from the previous installation. Good luck and hopefully it's still under warranty.

Oldjeep,

Sorry to hear about this. I looked into it and I don’t see any related TSBs. Please keep us posted once you have a chance to take a look at things.

I had to have mine replace too ... after I was accused of putting some stop leak or some crap in my tranny (I did not put anything in!). My tranny temp was running high when towing, shop said one of the lines also had a crimp in it. Anyway, had it replaced ... so far no other drama with it.

Finally crawled around under there and it looks like the majority of the leak is coming from the pan gasket. Ordered up a new filter/gasket kit and I'll fix that first and then see if anything is actually leaking from the lines - I didn't see anything.

I just remembered that the trans pan leak is covered by the lifetime warranty.
