Default 2500 Front Axle Grease?

Hi guys,

Question - I know where and how to grease the front axle needle fitting every 3000 miles on the 2500's and 3500's, but I don't know what type of grease to use. I am definitely no expert on automotive lubes and greases, but I have heard that many greases are incompatible with each other, and most companies recommend removing the existing grease before adding more of a different type - but removing the grease seems pretty much impossible in that front axle cardan joint.

So, I would like to use something that this compatible with whatever grease that Dodge uses before they ship them to the dealer.

Anybody know? Thanks.

I have this stuff on hand, but will certainly buy something else if this turns out to be incompatible:

http://www.amazon.com/Valvoline-VV98...VYM08V9857EBPC

Or maybe I'm over-thinking it?

Thanks again!

The Valvoline stuff will work but I'd opt for some Lucas Red "N" Tacky. It's a No 2 Lithium based grease and is compatible with just about everything else out there. I've used it for years and keep using it because it stands up better than anything else I've pumped through a grease gun.

Thanks. I will look at that stuff.
