Default Door Hinge Lubrication

Ok guys, as the title suggests, looking for some info on lubing the door hinges. I have lubed them in past but the lube makes one heck of a mess, any suggestions on lube type or tips/tricks to it?

Thanks

for doors that already squeak, penetrating fluid works well.

Penetrating lube to clean them, then use white lithium grease to lubricate them.

We had the dealer check it out during a routine visit and it appears they put on the white lithium grease. Not a lot, did not look too messy, and it did take care of the issue.

WD40 makes a spray type white lithium grease that can actually get into the door hinge a bit better, might be worth a shot.

I use a white spray lithium that drys to a powder. Spray the crap out of them a couple times a year. Most of the noise comes from the roller that holds the door open, not the hinges.

I like using Wurth HHS-2000. Sprays on thin so it can creep into tight spaces yet leaves little or no mess.

My door hinges started squeaking very early into the truck's life. I gave them a squirt of WD40 and they've been good ever since. Personally, I don't think WD40 would be the best choice, but in this case, it worked. Haven't reapplied it for at least three years, so there you go.
