Check engine light after bumper repair
So my truck was in the body shop for about 15 days getting fairly minor collision repairs.
As I drove away from the shop, what appears to be a "check engine" light came on for the first time since I bought the vehicle.
Before I pay for a code to be checked are there any simple things that might have caused this to occur?

You could take it to Autozone or Advanced Auto, they will check it for free and even give you a print out of the codes. They will not however, clear the code, most of the time.
Also, OBDII readers are less than 30.00 and easy to use as well.

Thanks for the suggestions.
Replacing the gas cap did the trick.
Guessing that sitting in the body shop for two weeks had something to do with pressurizing the fuel tank. The alarm cleared itself after I removed the cap and filled the tank and all was good.
