Hey guys, my 2009 truck is stuck in 4x4 and wont come out. Had it in 4x4 all winter and now it wont come out, it is not indicating 4x4 on dash but it is def still in. I tried unhooking battery for a day and touching the pos and neg wires together for a hard reboot and nothing. checked over fuses and don't see any blown, I also have the bas/esp light on. not sure if this affects it. anything I could try without taking it to a garage?
Earlier the winter I had some issues where the alarm sounded when I opened my door one day, after getting it to turn off I had every light on dash on, no speedo/tach...everything was dead but truck ran fine. after some research I cleaned up terminals and charged battery and everything went back to normal besides the bas/esp light, that stayed on. Loking for a few things to look for or try so I can try and save a few bucks and not get robbed by a garage. Thanks

 

check the wiring under the truck near the transfer case switch, a lot of times the wiring will rub against the shaft and break apart, or your transfer case switch it shot.

 

another, drive in reverse for about 100 feet to see if it will disengage
