HVAC fan start up problem
I have a 2014 Big Horn. The problem started right after I purchased it used. The fan blower will not start at engine startup. It takes 28 minutes for the fan to start. Once the time passes and the fan starts it will work fine, unless you let it sit for a while. The other night it sat for 2 hours and it took 12 minutes for the fan to start. The dealership replaced the ac control head. Worked fine the first day, I tested it after 5 hours and it started right up. The next morning it wouldn't work again. Unfortunately I left town that morning and couldn't test the time for the fan to start up, but I assume it would be the same. Before they replaced the control head they flashed it and hoped that would work but no go. Has anyone heard of this? I am just hoping there is someone with an idea because they don't seem to know.
Thanks, sorry for the long explanation and hope it came across correctly.
Just to let you know, the display will show you are changing the fan speed, you can hear the blend door (?) hum a little when changing temp, but no fan. Also it doesn't matter if you have ac, heat, whatever, the fan won't start until it warms up??

After it starts working, do all speeds work?
Does it work on high speed when the others don't?
The blower motor gets power from the ignition switch and ground thru the resistors that determine speed.
If you have a meter or test light, pull the glove box out.
The blower connections are behind it. Make sure the 2 plugs are in securely.
One plug has 2 wires going to the blower motor. should have 12 volts on 1 and less on the other, depending on where the switch is set.

After it starts working it works perfect, all speeds. When it isn't working, there is no fan speed that will work. The display is telling you it is working, just no fan. The ac compressor is working also. This is fully under warranty so the dealer is trying to fix it. I was just hoping that maybe someone had heard of this happening and I could mention it to the service mgr.
Fixed.
I have already been there 4 times in the 1 week since I have owned this truck. Every time they sent me home with the truck telling me it was fixed. I was hoping to avoid 8 more times with the same thing. Thinking that maybe, just possibly, someone had heard of this because nobody at the dealership had. But thanks for the response, I REALLY appreciate it.

No, as I stated earlier I had to leave town. When I get back it will be trip five to the dealer. I was hoping, while sitting in a hotel room, that maybe someone had heard of this because the service dept had not.
If you would like, please DM me your VIN and I can check to see if there are any relatable TSB's. - Kevin T, Social Connect Team
