Default Can someone clear up the front gear swap issue on the 2014 1500 please!

I have been searching Google for days and all i find is contradicting info. Then i remembered i was a member here when i had my gen 3 2500.
I have a 2014 1500 4x4 triple black crew cab. 6spd with 3:21. Seeing as i drive a lot the 3:21's don't bother me cause the mpg is better.
I just had new A/T's , 2.5" front level and a borla proXS done. Very happy with it.
But i still wanna lift it 5-6" and go 35" rubber. The problem is obviously is the ZF front diff.
Certainly im not going 35" tires with 3:21(or 3:55 for that matter) as that would be ridiculous. I'm a firm believer that 4:56 is mandatory with 35" tires. (Definitely was a great move on my 2500)
But 4:56 is not an option. So i have to think that running stock 33" tires with 3:21 gears would feel exactly the same as running 35" tires with 3:92 gears would it not???

So here's the real question.... all im reading is contradicting info the front ring gear is or isn't welded to the carrier?!!!!???

Are you planning on switching out the 3:21's with 3:92's? I know a guy with 35's and 3:21's with his Hemi. He seems to like it. Personally I have the Eco with 3:55's and I wouldn't plan on upgrading to 35's. I like the size of 33's, just with I had them on 17/18s.

Yes. IF the front isnt welded i WILL swap 3:21 out in favor of 3:92. There's no way i would ever run my current gear with 35". When i put 35" on my gen 3 2500 with 3:73 i was VERY unimpressed. I swapped in 4:56 two weeks later and it was just perfect.
For me, there is no question i would have to go 3:92. Considering there are no lower options.
Ill also add an OEM limited slip. I had a factory locker on my 2500 and it really blows not having one now.

You should be able to fit 35's on it now with a 2.5" leveling kit, I did. I have 35's with 3.55's and its not too bad. But you are correct in saying that the diff is welded and for that reason there is no changing to 4.56. I too went from 3.73's to 4.56's with my Megacab which also had 35" tires. Big difference.

So it IS welded then.

Ok. Ill just get some new rims and put 33x12.5x20 on it and stay as i am. The level changes the trucks appearance entirely and with a 12.5 wide tire that sticks out of the wheel well a little it'll look just as baddass. Just save my factory black rims and new 275/65/20 for winter. Now I'll just get the $1700 hammerhead bumper i want instead of all that lift /regear money
