I have the recon headlights in my truck with just halogen bulbs, my one light burnt out so looking for maybe upgrading to something brighter. Has anyone used the led headlight bulbs? I've heard some good and bad things about them or maybe go with a hid setup. Any suggestions?

 

Not a lot of experience here, but I had hid's in my 3rd gen truck. I loved the color and brightness, but they would get hot and cut out.

I just purchased OPT7 led's to try in my fogs.

I can shoot pics this weekend if you do not get other feedback.

I will tell you I went from these Recon bulbs:

To these OPT7's:

The OPT7's completely out perform the xenon bulbs. Much brighter, throw way out there, and the color is perfect. More of a very bright white, not a lot of blue.

Not comparing apples to apples here, but very nice light.

 

That's alright, so sounds like maybe going to a led bulb wouldn't be a bad idea, thanks for your input.
