Default 09 3.7l Vibration when running steady 1400-1900

Hey guys. Here is one I have not seen in my search and reading through all of the posts here.
I've an 09' 3.7l ST truck. it has 179k on it now. For the past 45k or so, when I an running it (warm or cold) at around 1400- 1900 rpm (I am usually around 35-40 mph), I get this vibration, and a lot of times it seems pretty strong. Feels like the truck is struggling up a hill. it is pretty odd because when I have my foot into it a moderate amount this does not happen, but just driving on level city streets, I get this vibration. The vibration occurred when the truck had less than 100k on it, but went away after a tune-up and tranny service. A month ago I did another tune-up after I got a misfire code. That is solved, but the vibration remains. It has gotten worse over the last 2k miles.

Here is what I wonder; I am wondering if this is maybe an issue with the torque converter, or possibly the shift solenoids in the tranny. I want to rule out the shift solenoids, because it will do it whether I am in D, or 4th or even 3rd, but I'm no transmission expert. I have heard of the term "Stiction", and wonder if there is something to that, and this issue I am experiencing.

ANY and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am going to take it into the Dealership, but I'd really prefer to have a few ideas about a diagnosis before I go.

thanks in advance

Sean

maybe not related, but I developed a vibration that felt a lot like running over the washboard grooves on the edge of a highway to keep you in the hiway lane... when I let up on throttle or mashed down on it the vibration would go away but would come back at steady speed. Over the course of a couple of months it got worse. Usually only noticeable on a freeway with a smooth road, not so much on bumpy city streets with varying speed. Anyway my tranny guy suggested a trans back flush and a "friction modifier" additive, as he thought the fluid needed a clutch modifier added. I did the back flush with the additive added. After about 100 miles the issue went away for good... drove it another 60K without that issue. Talk to a tranny guy about it if you think the symptoms are similar...

Thank you Andrea, I will if I end up going that route.

RSdata,

that really does sound much like what I experience. Is quite annoying. I'll have my favorite trans guy do a tranny service, and if that does not clear it up, then off to the Dealership I will go.
