Default Cranks but no start

Another victim of the cranks but no start isue on my '11 1500 qc 4.7l. At first i suspected a bad pump or pressure regulator.The problem had been progressively getting worse as i was experiencing extended crank times untill it wouldn't start altogether,fortunately in my yard.The fuse at M25 was good but the pump wasn't turning on when the key was turned to run position.There was no power from the relay side of the fuse in the TIPM getting over to the pump side.I obtained a test/bypass jumper cable from VerticalVisions and connected it to M7 cig lighter switched fuse port back to M25 to allow the fuel pump to run allowing the engine to start normally as a temporary fix until a external relay gets permanently installed.Many different options for repair but I think going with a external relay simplifies the repair and can make it more reliable than spending a bunch of money and time sending out the TIPM to have a electronic place solder in a new relay that can do the same thing a few years down the road.YMMV

I am surprise some aftermarket company hasn't come out with a replacement TIPM, with easily swappable relays and such. Seems to me, there would be a good market for such a thing......

Relays and fuses are only one part of the TIPM. There is also programmable logic in the TIPM that likely runs proprietary code which would be difficult to duplicate and still be fully compatible with the rest of the systems. The simpler thing to do might be to fabricate a piggyback module that would wire in series with the TIPM connectors and would break out relays to a remotely located fuse/relay panel. There would very likely still need to be some internal physical modifications required to the stock TIPM though (jumpering existing relays, re-routing signals to the connectors, etc. Maybe socketing the internal relay connections and adding an access panel would be doable. Oh, I wish I had a scrap TIPM to experiment with....

They do have a piggyback pcb module deal that plugs directly into the TIPM but it only covers the fuel pump relay at this time and it's $180. Cheaper than buying a new TIPM though.

This is what I used to permanently repair the fuel pump relay in the TIPM;

I remember seeing on an Off-road forum someone bought an aftermarket fuse an relay holder and made it parallel the TIPM so you could do exactly what you guys are describing on the trail.
