Default Dealer suggesting replace engine

2014 Ram 1500. 112K miles, 5.7 L. Driving along and engine started missing, then ETC message appeared and check engine light came on. Broke down completely right in front of the dealer. Dealer did a diagnostic and is recommending replacing the engine because it is misfiring so much. Gave an estimated cost of 10K. I called Chrysler to open a case to see about getting help wit the cost. Any suggestions?

Think I would want to know WHY it is missing..... If it is a component failure of some sort, which component? If the cam get wiped out, I could see it...... as just replacing it won't remove all the crap it is circulated thru the engine.

But is it actually an internal engine part causing the poor running or is it an external part like electrical sensors, fuel injectors etc. You need to be given more information as to diagnosis
