Default No cold air

My 2011 1500 4.7 only blows warm air. I also get a hot electrical smell coming through the vents. I removed the fan motor and resistor and found that the resistor had that same smell so i assume its bad. Could a bad resistor alone cause that problem. The fan motor seems to be blowing fine.

If the blower is working, it's not the resistor. To isolate whats going on, turn on the AC, open the hood and verify that the compressor clutch is engaging and disengaging. If it's engaging, then the next step is to turn on the AC to max and check the temp of the two lines for the AC. One line should be cold and condensation forming on it. If all that checks out, then the next step is to check the blend doors.

Just bumping here. A few days ago, I have noticed that even if my car engine is turned off warm air blows on my aircon. well yeah, I did not bother when I noticed it before not until my aircon started to blow air improperly. Do I need to change my compressor immediately? because from what I have seen online it is a bit pricey Mopar-air-conditioning-compressor, or do I also need to check on something else? is it the coolant or electrical issue?

Start a new thread. Tell us what you are driving, what the problem is, and anything you have done to troubleshoot/correct the problem.
