Question on 4-speed Auto
Earlier Today I decided to go driving around for the pure heck of it. Then I curious. Right now as some of yall may or may not know, I am driving a 04 SE with the four speed auto. Well, I decided to set into (3). I had know idea what it did, but I was about to find out. I noticed that at around 30 mph it likes to ride on that second gear, another words it won't shift into 3rd gear until I get past 32mph. Then it just stays in 3rd gear. (Going on the highway up to 60 I didn't feel another shift in fourth gear.)
Now my question is, what is "3" suppose to do? Does it only go up to third gear? (I noticed also it likes to engine brake more when in "3" than when it's in drive.)
Also one more question. I know that in "1" it will shift into second on the red line, but will it shift into 3rd gear once it redlines on snd gear or will stay in 2nd gear until it utterly destroys itself?

3rd is nothing more then drive. Dodge said 3rd but it's just drive so that is why it didn't shift into OD when it was in 3rd. 3rd would not shift if you redline it at least it didn't when I hit the rev limiter on mine it a 04 SXT.
