while resurching the rwd idea for my neon i came up with two cars that had a close wheel base. the late 90s mustang and the late 90s camaro im not sure i will have enough room for that motor but the rear end should work. what do think.

do you want to do this rwd thing cus it would be original...? Otherwise whats the point? there are alot of fwd cars that are way better off then rwd, did you ever see the video of the srt4 stomping a viper at the drag strip? I'm not trying to rip on you, i'm just curious. You've had alot of good input on my posts and i appreciate that. Just wondering what your thinking is on the rwd neon.

I dunno, the mustang and camaro are heavier cars. I think to fit that v8 you might need to move the firewall back, and then the issue of a solid rear axle. Finding an IRS setup from a nissan 240 or somthin similar would be easier to fab, then you wont have to clearance your tranny tunnel any more because your driveshaft wont articulate. Either which way theres gonna be a ton of fab work.... Good luck!

that might acualy work. the wheelbase is a little shorter than i would like but i could use some deep dish rims.

i know a guy that has a RWD neon drag car with a small block 400 in it.......he built a custom chasis, floor pan, and roll cage then cut the floor out of his neon and dropped it one the chasis......
i think that would be the easiest way to do the job

you could always put the engine in the back and make it a 2 seater just a suggestion though

if you looked at it you wouldnt be able to tell there was anything insane inside....except for the fact that there was a 4 inch pipe comming out the sides infront of the rear tires, the big *** slicks on the back, wheelie bars, the huge hood scoop, parachute, and the car sat about 3 inches off the ground....

i dont know what he used, but the engine and suspension all fit inside the car.....
i wish i could get pics of it but he has it stored out at a buddies house
