Default Stock Stereo Removal

...Ok, It's probably on here somewhere, but what's the best way (without damaging anything) to remove the stock stereo unit. (05 Neon SXT).

pop the border, air panels and temp switches around the radio there are two screws in the heater vent. two bolts hold the radio in then pull it out.

I think it's easier to remove the screws through the vents before you remove the frame and then pop the vents (after you see how they work) before you re-install. Just a suggestion.

you cant remove the plate without removing the screws im pretty sure he understood that.

You HAVE to remove the border. The air temp ***** WILL come out. Should be 4 screws in each corner of the headunit. You CANNOT take out the screws if you don't remove the border. This is the easiest car I worked on..

i believe he ment the screws in the air vent.
