Free a bit of RAM by killing ctfmon
ctfmon is a process using up about 2,000 to 3,000 k of RAM
that is put on by Windows Office since the XP version
and is un-necessary for most users
since it is for handwriting recognition, voice recognition and foreign language switching.
ctfmon is tricky to remove
and keeps coming back
A volunteer has written a little free program to de-activate it
and the same program can re-activate it later

Want to make your computer work and little faster
and hang up less often
by removing other un-necessary processes?
Check out the free information on Windows processes,
what they do,
and which ones you might be able to do without
at Black Viper website...where much more Windows tweak info is available too:

The newest version of Spybot Search & Destroy version 1.4
has recently gotten update files
that show what various startup process do
in the....Advanced View....Tools...Startup...menu
Useful color codes of green (ok) yellow (questionable) and red (bad)
help in understanding startup items and processes that are starting automatically.
