Difference between Pentium Dual Core and Core 2 Duo..
Just wondering because I thought my new computer was coming with Core 2 Duo but instead came with the Pentium Dual core. Whats the major differences between the two? How much off a difference is there?
RE: Difference between Pentium Dual Core and Core 2 Duo..
The Core 2 line of processors use a different architecture comapred to the Pentium D (very similar to the Pentium 4). So they arent really comparible at all...However, a Core 2 processor has a faster FSB, and can perfom more tasks per cycle compared to the Pentium D. From the reviews I've seen, a Core 2 that runs around 2GHz will be just as fast, if not faster, then a Pentium D that runs at 3.4GHz+. Its still a good processor, its just the last generation model...
RE: Difference between Pentium Dual Core and Core 2 Duo..
Consider the Dual core chip to be a V8.....and the Core 2 Duo to be a turbo'd 4 cylinder...... it can go alot faster with alot less effort because of the way its designed...
