Mac Help, internet startup is SLOW

Well, i have only had my mac for a year or so. Just this week it safari has begun to startup slow. It pops right up to google, but then i get the colored "i'm thinkin wheel" for a minute or 2 at least. It comes on and off after the page has loaded. and i cant do anything.
I ran the maintenance utility, reset safari, and ran a memory organizer on it. it is still slow? any ideas/suggestions?
Once it fires up, it seems to run fine. but start up is a little rough. Like if i start it right to here, it take forever.
