Default Computer keeps booting

Running XP with two hard drives. The original C & added E.

I set my computer when it was running right to scan for errors the next time it started

When I turn on the computer it scans both drives for errors. After completing the screen says "failed to write in output log" or something along those lines, automatically restarts, then does the same thing over again and again.

If I try and quit the scan, it'll still restart and try to scan again.

If I run in any other mode (ie: safe mode, original configurations, etc) I get an error of like a file's location covering the screen (black page white letters)

No restore disc. Any ideas?

No restore disk? That copy of windows legal?

I would try to get your hands on a XP CD, boot from it, go into recovery console and run a chkdsk c: /r You can go even further and do a fixboot c: (although that is usually only needed if you get unmountable boot volume.

It was donated from a college to us

Tried that. It still says failure to write in output log

I'll ask around foran XP CD. A friend at work has been giving out Vista Ultimate/Pro/* to people so he might be able to get a copy. Wouldn't want to lose some important videos.. errr, documents on it. lol
