Heater Blower Resister

Default Heater Blower Resister

I recently replaced my blower resister a month ago and my fan only works on high again.This is my 2nd one the 1st one was replaced exactly 1yr ago.I know why my blower only works on high and my question is , WHY is my resisters blowing??????? My dash blower speed control was checked and is OK.I would truly appreciate some help with this.THANKS

If you find out let me know,I have r&r'ed 3 of them in my wifes 03 Dakota.
I was told not to have the blower on when starting the vehicle,?.

maybe the air intake vents are a bit clogged and causing more stress on the blower motor resister. how does the blower motor sound when it is on? does it blow air out at a reasonable rate?

But over all the resistor is in place to regulate and reduce voltage to the fan. At high speed it is 12v and reduced at steps to lessen the fan speed.

I cant see anything wrong other than a bad resistor or a few of them.
