Resizing pictures
I have several pictures and would like to use one as my profile picture/avatar, but I am having problems getting the file small enough to upload.
Does is take special software to resize it, or do I need to take the pics at a lower resolution?

Klute,
It says the avatar picture has to be under 20 kilobytes (which is pretty small) to upload it, I had to monkey with the image size and resolution before I got it small enough (the final image was 14 kb). I used photoshop to do this, but there are cheaper programs to manipulate pictures. If you don't happen to have one of these programs, feel free to e-mail it me and I'll fix it for you in a jiffy.

You can also use Windows to resize your pics. Find your image/picture file and double click it. When it opens and shows the picture, at the bottom below the picture there should be several icons that perform different tasks. The next to the last icon on the right should be a painting with a paint brush over it. Left click the icon and it should open Windows Paint with your picture in it. At the left top click on "image" and choose "stretch/skew". Now you can reduce your pictures size by percentage. To help with it's file size, always save it as a "jpg" image.
