Default Why is there a 300kb limit on uploaded photos??

I have several sweet pics of my ram which I would love to share however they are all over 300kb, except for those 2 that I could upload successfully... Any chance we can upgrade to 500kb per photo? I know this is so trivial, but it would allow more posting of our rides... and less empty photo albums created in error. What do you all think?

The reasoning behind this is actually quite simple, its to prevent pages from taking forever to load and to be courteous to our members who are on dialup and slower cable/dsl services. What you fail to understand, is that the more images/graphics you load on a page, the longer it takes to load. It requires a faster internet connection, a better computer, and great connections between DF and your computer to provide you with quality. The more graphics we load, especially pictures that should have been resized down.....the longer the pages take to access, the more service interruptions, the more space it wastes on the server harddrives, and basically it screws up the forums for other people.

It would be easier if more people would learn to use picture editing software and resize their pictures instead. The average picture doesnt need to be 1600x1200 and 2mb in size. You could easily compress that down to 600x400 and under 150k in most cases.

If you need help in resizing them, or in learning how to resize them, feel free to contact me as I am the main Chop Shop moderator and I am also here to help.
