i cant make it so my avatar shows up. unless its jest my comp. how do you fix this problem????

First of all, welcome to DF!

Avatars are the pictures that appear beneath each member's name on the left hand side of each post. These are usually either pictures of cars, animated icons, artwork, or even pictures of that said person. They MUST be 145x145 in dimension and no larger then 20kb in size. If you have a properly sized Avatar, you can then proceed to upload it.

Along the top of every page you should see a list of words like Member List, My Profile, Inbox, My Forums etc etc You want to click on My Profile. This will take you to your own personal profile page that will let you edit certain information about you. Scroll down about midway thru the page and you should see a section that says My Avatar.

Make sure to select Upload my picture Click on the text and a window will pop up. This will bring up a window that will let you browse to where your picture is stored. Just browse to the Desktop and select your picture. Click OK. The window will disappear and the My Profile page will reappear. Scroll down to the bottom and click APPLY. Then when the page refreshes, click OK and you will then have your Avatar!

 

How do you fix the problem of not being able to get your avatar to show up...

Do something different than what you did the first time it didn't work.

He could have very easily done it right and it not have worked. I've had my own avatar not show up once or twice when I've changed it. It could be server lag and the upload times out, or it could simply be he forgot to click Apply...

 

I always assume a lot of things before I post useful information, but as a matter of fact that I had posted was not useful information. Instead, it was something I assumed would be interpreted as humorous, which would bring a smile to the normal, boring serious people of the forums.

Then he technically would have to do something different than what he did the first time it didn't work by clicking "apply".
