Default Windows Media Player question

Is there a permanent way to keep that little window from popping up while you're trying to do things on the computer? It always pops up in the middle of reading, writing something or when playing games. Really frustrating.

Mine was doing that awhile back. I reinstalled then did a virus scan then ran Spybot. Didn't have any problems after that.

No, it's part of the player where it pops up and has all of those psychodelic designs flashing around. There's a place to click on it to minimize it, but I want it completely shut off because it's annoying to no end.

are you talking about the window circled in the pic. if so one way to fix it is to right click on your taskbar, go to toolbars and DESELECT Windows Media Player from now on when you run it minimized it wont pop up with that window, however you wont have the player controls as it will just minimize like a normal window.

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. I'll try that.
