Default best voice recognition software?

I'm assuming it's still Dragon Naturally Speaking ( http://www.nuance.com/naturallyspeaking/ ) but is it? And has anyone used the latest version of Dragon? How is it?

As far as I know, it's still the best as far as ease of use and quality for the price. There are some that are better, but these are high end software programs. I havent personally used the most recent version, but I set one up for a student's laptop about 6 months ago.

Thanks for the report. Yeah, I can't really afford more than Dragon costs already. Have you had any experience with the difference between Dragon Standard and Dragon Preferred? Worth paying the extra to be Preferred?

All really depends on whether you need the additional features included in Preferred....if you dont, I wouldnt bother...

That's the official site and their comparison between the standard, preferred, and professional versions.

Excellent, thanks. I think I'm going to get Dragon Preferred. I could see myself wanting to export my Dragon info to another computer with Dragon at some point, and cursing myself for not spending the extra.
